Dear Devin,

You were such a tiny little thing when you came into the studio with your parents and big sister. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on you…but you had other plans. You didn’t want to be put down for even a moment. Mom said you hadn’t pooped in a while, and I agreed since you were passing gas like nobody’s business! Finally (after a long while) you pooped. And boy oh boy did that make you happy! You went to sleep like a champ. Even though you won’t remember having your picture taken your mom and dad will. Oh and Devin…your big sister loves you a lot! xoxo

This was a fun, laid back session. Mom contacted me because her oldest had lost those two front teeth, and she really wanted to document this milestone before her big girl teeth came through. I was thrilled! It’s a time that often gets overlooked as photoworthy. When I showed up the kids and I hit it off right away. We hung out in their bedrooms for a bit, checking out their favorite things. Then we decided to go play outside. Before we knew it lunch was ready and we were all done. 🙂

This precious baby girl came in to see me for her 9 month pictures. Mom and I had discussed what her session goals were, and the more I heard the more excited I was to shoot this session. The goal was to keep it very simple, no frills/props/fancy backdrops/etc.. Mom wanted to capture who her baby girl is in this moment in time. All of her milestones, and all of her expressions. This little sweetie did not dissapoint! These are just a few of the images we captured. I can’t wait to see the canvas’ hung up!

Anyone who knows me or has spent any amount of time looking at my images knows I love color. But never discount keeping it classic and simple, especially when it comes to babies. Fun outfits and hairbows are definitley fun to photograph, but those hairbows and ruffled pants will go out of style at some point. As this mom said to me ‘babies are perfect just how they are’. I totally agree.

for anyone interested how we got these shots. We placed her on the backdrop and just watched her roam. She just did her thing and we got totally entertained!

Thomas Arthur and all his cuteness came in to visit me for his milestone session. Look how much he’s grown in less than five months!

Here’s another session I got to shoot in that snowfall from last month. We started in the warm and toasty studio, and then finished up playing out in the snow. Braxton wasn’t quite sure what to think of all that snow, but he was definitley curious about it. When I first saw him bundled up in his snowgear it reminded me of that scene from The Christmas Story. You know, where the mother puts the snowgear on the youngest son, puts a few scarfs around his face and then he can’t put his arms down? It was so cute, and so funny!

We even got a few of the canine family members. 🙂
