Today was the first day in I don’t know how long that I didn’t spend in my office.  I didn’t wake up to emails.  I didn’t stress out over deadlines.  Today was a day that our little family spent with just each other, good food, funny movies and Christmas decorating.  I woke up to all 3 of my kids curled up in bed with us and the smell of turkey that my husband had already started to cook.

Of course, if you know me you know I can’t just end my blog post with that.  I HAVE to tell you that I’m also ending my wonderful Thanksgiving day with a black eye.  While horse playing with my boys this morning my youngest got thrown back at me and his head smashed into my left eye.  I actually saw stars.  They twinkled and had 5 points.  No lie.

On a side note.  If your one of those parents that are die-hard Black Friday shoppers out at 3am….be gentle with me.  I’ve never done that whole thing and this year I think I’m going to.  I’m hoping it’s not has horrible as they show on the Target commercials.  What with people smashed up against the doors ready to trample each other.  I mean, really.  Is anything THAT important to buy?!

Seriously love playing with this little girl!  She is a hoot.  🙂  Just a quick sneak peek, Susan.  🙂

If you follow me on facebook you’ll remember when I sucked it up and tried to take a picture of my kids (all together) for our own Christmas cards.  It was a success, but entailed a lot of sweat, tears and frustration.  Ok, so maybe not the tears, but definitely the frustration.  What is it about photographing our own children?!  Really I should rephrase that and ask what is it about photographing our own boys?  My daughter would let me take her picture all day long, but the boys…like 5 whole seconds.  I resorted to all kinds of bribery, and in the end it worked out.  🙂 🙂

It’s funny to look at the images and remember what was really going on.  Anyway, enjoy!  It’s time for me to get back to work!

Every photographer’s nightmare…being the one in FRONT of the camera.  Every photographer’s child’s nightmare…being dragged along with.  🙂

I think they did great!  Thank you for choosing me to photograph your family Jonna.  You can check out Jonna’s work HERE.

(it wasn’t so bad now was it James?)  😉

I love these kids.  I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and photographing them since they moved back to NWA.  The oldest two are always a joy to be around and so polite.  The twins are so funny…and look nothing alike.  One of these days I’m going to post some images to show how they’ve grown.  🙂
