Porter Jake was welcomed into this world surrounded by family on September 14th, 2014 at 5:40pm. He weighed a perfect 7 pounds, 3 ounces. Mom did amazing! I watched with a bit of envy as her sisters supported her during the labor and delivery of their little nephew. I’m so glad my girls have each other to grow up with like these sisters. Porter no doubt will be soaked with hugs and kisses all his life.

On July 3rd, 2014 at 1:19pm a beautiful baby girl was welcomed by her parents, 3 big brothers, and two grandmothers. Ainsley Katherine Henson weighed a perfect 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. I was blessed to be there to tell her story. It was an honor, as it always is, to photograph the very first images of Ainsley, the first moments her big brothers held her, the look on her mother and father’s face as she came into the world. Thank you for having me!

I am so far behind in blogging. This sweet pea’s birth story was blogged a while ago. You can view that here. Here he is a week later in our Rogers, Arkansas studio. What a beautiful baby boy. This family is so in love with their newest addition! 🙂

At 2AM I got a call from Tom telling me Sarah’s contractions were getting stronger, and that the midwives were on their way over. I told him to let me know how much she has progressed once her midwive got to the house and checked. I tried to get back to sleep, but it was to no avail. By 3:45AM I hadn’t heard back, and that made me a bit nervous. I called Tom back to find out how things were going. It was time to head over. So while the rest of my family slept I threw on my clothes, grabbed my bag, and told my husband good-bye.

I’ve entered quiet births before, but never with so many people. I was so impressed that with about 6 additional people this mom and dad were able to get the beautiful homebirth they had so desired. Sarah was amazing. Their beautiful, red-headed baby girl entered the world as the sun was rising through the window. At 8:11AM on June 3rd, 2014 Tom and Sarah finally got to meet their precious baby.

I can’t wait to share her newborn images with you as well, but for now you all get to witness this awesome birth story thanks to mom and dad’s approval. Enjoy!

Being invited into a family’s most important day is an incredible honor. To be able to give them clear memories of such a miraculous day I can’t put into words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each of you for inviting me to such a moment.

Mom was so worried that things weren’t progressing after a while that she decided she’d try to get some sleep. I left the room and took a stroll to snag some images and give them a little down time. I hadn’t been out of the room 15 minutes when I felt my phone vibrating. It was the dad. He said ‘where are you?’, and I replied ‘just down the hall on my way back.”. He said it was time to push…and I really thought he was teasing me for just a second. The last time we checked mom was only at a 6! I hustled to the room, and sure enough it was time! Mom did so awesome and dad had the biggest smile plastered on his face the whole time. Congratulations F & C! He is simply beautiful. 🙂
